The Parish School team from St. Edward the Confessor won first place at the recent Battle of the Books (BOB) regional competition. Comprised of 4th and 5th graders, the three Monarch teams displayed their literary strength against eight other local schools, including Catholic schools St. Anne, Serra Catholic and Mission Basilica. Other schools included St. Margaret Episcopal School, Mission Viejo Christian, TVT Community Day School and Olivewood.
BOB is a literacy program for 4th and 5th graders that encourages learners to enjoy reading, and engage in book discussions and analyses. Each Tuesday, more than 50 learners met at 7 a.m. and studied one of the 20 books they read throughout the year.
