TEN COMMANDMENTS HIKE

Catholic scouts in Orange County grow together spiritually

By Bernie Kilcoyne, Chair, Diocese Catholic Committee on Scouting     2/8/2019

Last month the sixth annual Ten Commandment Hike for scouts and adults took place. Some 80 adults and 103 youth participated in the event. The purpose of the Ten Commandment Hike is to provide an opportunity for young scouts to live their faith, while learning how the Ten Commandments play an important part in their lives, and serves as a foundation in living their faith.

The event also provided an opportunity for the scouts to fulfill a requirement toward rank advancement or completing a Scout is Reverent requirement for one of their Religious Emblems studies.

The 2020 hike is scheduled for January 11. Details for the hike will be available at occatholicscouting.org beginning in September.
