For six decades, students at St. Polycarp Catholic School in Stanton have been thriving. Formed in faith and educated by committed teachers and staff, students have gone on to attend high school at Servite, Connelly and beyond. They have excelled in college and have returned to their communities well prepared for careers.
Now about to mark its Diamond Jubilee, St. Polycarp is welcoming back all alumni for a grand celebration. The Diamond Jubilee celebration will be held on the school’s campus on Friday, Oct. 18 and features dinner, dancing, a silent auction and a special moment that will honor its alumni. Funds raised at the event will support the school’s beautification projects.
St. Polycarp Catholic School was founded in 1959 as a mission school of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Westminster. Three years later, in 1962, the school became part of the newly formed St. Polycarp Parish. Four sisters from the Apostolic Oblates in Italy came to the school, teaching students in first through fifth grades. Honoring the founder of the Oblates, Bishop Guglielmo Giaquinta, who was devoted to the Blessed Mother, the school’s motto is “My Mother, My Confidence.” The school is fully accredited through the Western Catholic Education Association and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
