A special ceremony will take place on the Christ Cathedral Campus May 17 at noon, when Bishop Kevin Vann will bless the 11 Stations of Mercy located throughout the Christ Cathedral grounds.
The prayerful assembly will process from one site to the next, following the Bishop as he blesses each site.
The Stations of Mercy are a permanent installation created in response to Pope Francis’ call to renewed reflection on the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy during the Jubilee Year of Mercy.
A printed guide in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese offers a reflection and prayer suggestion for each Station.
“Mercy is the bridge that connects God and humanity, opening our hearts to the hope of being loved forever despite our sinfulness,” says Pope Francis.
