The historic grounds of Mission San Juan Capistrano will be the site of the annual Romance of the Mission Gala, at which supporters of the mission will celebrate its religious significance and help make sure its preservation efforts continue.
A highlight of the outdoor event will be a performance by Grammy Award-winning Steve Tyrell who will entertain attendees in the intimate setting of the ruins of the Great Stone Church.
Carol and Don Dorkowski will be recognized as longtime supporters of preservation efforts of the mission, including Don’s service on the Mission Preservation Foundation Board of Directors.
The evening will begin with an opening reception in the mission’s front Courtyard Gardens, followed by the honoree recognition, concert, traditional bell ringing and a candlelight dinner in the Center Courtyard. The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel will host and serve the four-course plated meal. Rogers Gardens of Newport Beach will donate the floral design services and decor.
