PRAYER IN SUPPORT OF FAMILIES WHO HAVE BEEN SEPARATED

By Staff     7/30/2018

At the request of Bishop Vann, all Catholics are encouraged to join the Sisters of St. Joseph and parishioners across the Diocese each Thursday evening to pray for separated and detained immigrant families.

Each Thursday from now through September 20, from 6 to 7 p.m., the community will gather outside the Motherhouse of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Orange for prayer. Then those gathered will walk to the sidewalk and make a public stand in support of innocent children who have been separated from their vulnerable parents seeking refuge in the U.S.

All parishes were invited for a larger turnout on July 26. On that date, those gathered joined together at the Motherhouse for prayer first, followed by a prayerful procession to Christ Cathedral. Upon arriving, the group prayed the Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) and reflected upon the lives of immigrants.
