OUR LADY QUEEN OF ANGELS HOSTS FOOD DRIVE AS CHURCH REOPENS

By Clayton Baum     6/10/2020

As California churches look to reopen, there continues to be a high demand for donations to support the Orange County community. Our Lady Queen of Angels in Newport Beach, with support from the Knights of Columbus Council 15719, is holding Sunday food drives to benefit Catholic Charities of Orange County.

The Give and Receive Blessings drive was launched on May 31 and will continue through June 14. The drive is held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to donate by driving through the church parking lot to donate non-perishable food items. The priests of Our Lady Queen of Angels will be on hand to bless donors while they are in their vehicles.

Catholic Charities reports that the need has increased four-fold over the last 60 days, the result of the devastating economic impact caused by the coronavirus.
