MEMORIAL DAY 2022

By STAFF     6/7/2022

On the last Monday of May, Americans observe Memorial Day – a solemn day to honor those who died while serving in the United States military.

Masses were held on May 30, inside Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove and at three Diocese of Orange cemeteries: Ascension in Lake Forest, Holy Sepulcher in Orange and Good Shepherd in Huntington Beach.

Christ Cathedral’s Mass was followed by a procession from the cathedral to the newly expanded Cathedral Memorial Gardens cemetery for a special prayer service.

That service included bagpipe music, a 21-gun salute, the release of doves, military songs and dozens of youth Marines carrying flags and joining in the procession.
