YEARS MARRIED: 35

CHILDREN: 4

GRANDCHILDREN: 1

YEARS IN THE DIACONATE: 16

HOW THEY MET: “I was travelling with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and we played at the Carnation Gardens at Disneyland two weeks in the summer. June was working at the park and we met there one evening in August 1979. We stayed in touch while I travelled the world over for the next two years, including a return trip to Disneyland for two weeks in August 1980, and were married shortly after I left the band in 1981.”

WHAT THEY DO FOR FUN: “Dinner and a movie, visit friends and relatives, and travelling”

WHAT DREW HIM TO THE DIACONATE: “Deacon Jay Antunez told me one night after the annual Knights of Columbus clergy dinner that I would make a good deacon. A few years later, then pastor Fr. Quang Chu asked if I would be interested in becoming a deacon and the rest, as they say, is history.”

HIS GREATEST CHALLENGE: “What challenges me the most as a deacon is living up to the high standards expected of a deacon in all aspects of my life.”

FAVORITE SCRIPTURE: Galatians 3:28b – “… you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
