LEARN HOW TO PRAY

Three-part Ignatian prayer series offers tools to help deepen ones faith and relationship with the Lord

By STAFF     7/6/2018

Struggling with prayer? This “prayer-training” retreat on July 14 at Christ Cathedral could help you strengthen your ability to engage in contemplative prayer and truly come to know the Lord, according to Fr. Martin Gleeson, O.P. and spiritual advisor for the series.

Gleeson says many Catholics have studied scripture, but few have learned how to pray with scripture. The three-part prayer-training retreat has been approved by the Publishing Office of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

The retreat, which is FREE and open to anyone interested in improving his or her prayer life or helping others to do so, will begin with Mass at 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel in the Sky, atop the Tower of Hope on the campus of Christ Cathedral. The day continues with information, course materials and instruction, and concludes at 5 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring their own sack lunch. Call 504-439-5933 to register.
