FIRST FRIDAY FRIARS HAVE STAYING POWER

For more than 50 years Catholic businessmen in Orange County have been gathering each month for three things

By OC CATHOLIC TV     2/23/2016

This fraternity of friars, most of whom are on the other side of 50 years old, have been meeting on the first Friday of each month for nearly 60 years. While some organizations come and go, First Friday Friars’ succinct mission is likely the reason the group is still going strong. It was built with three key elements and nothing more. Mass. A fish lunch. Camaraderie. That’s it.

There are no fundraising or volunteering requirements. The men meet nine times a year for Mass, lunch and a compelling guest speaker. And they enjoy a special annual dinner event that includes their wives.
