Christ Cathedral Director of Music Ministries John Romeri led the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra during the encore of their recent performance in Orange County.
Romeri, an internationally celebrated liturgical music director who joined the Diocese of Orange in 2015, led the esteemed choir on July 19 at the Segerstrom Concert Hall in a rendition of “This Land is Your Land” by American composer Percy Faith.
Romeri was selected by the all-volunteer 360-member choir as a guest conductor during their Orange County stop on a West Coast tour.
“I’m incredibly honored,” Romeri said. “The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is a renowned American institution.”
Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is often referred to as “America’s Choir.”
Prior to joining the Diocese of Orange, Romeri served as Director of Liturgical Music for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
