CHRIST CATHEDRAL GOES BACK-TO-BACK, DEFEATS CRUSADERS IN ONE-POINT VICTORY

By Nick Porrazzo     11/11/2015

Christ Cathedral came out on top as they edged the Crusaders 83-82 for their second consecutive Catholic Basketball Association title.  The parishioners from Christ Cathedral joined the Saints (from St. Philip Benzi), Arise (LA County Catholic parishes and St. Martin de Porres), and the Crusaders (LA County parishes) in the semifinals that were held at Rosary Academy.

Captain Hector Martinez led his team to victory against Arise, eliminating them to advance to the championship game facing the Crusaders.  Christ Cathedral won a thriller defeating the Crusaders by one point to yet again stand on top as champions of the Catholic Basketball Association.

This league is a competitive recreational league that is made up of soccer, basketball, and other sports that bring Catholic parishioners together to share their faith in a peaceful fun environment.  This co-ed league is held once a year from August to November and is open to all adults ages 18-39.
