ANGELS’ MEAD TO SPEAK AT FIRST FRIDAY FRIARS

Tim Mead, VP of Communications for the Angels, is the keynote speaker for the Feb. 5 luncheon

The guest speaker for February’s First Friday Friars event is Tim Mead, VP of Communications for the Angels. The event will be held at the Anaheim Hills Club House on Feb. 5. Following a celebration of the Eucharist and a fish luncheon, Mead will share his experiences as part of the Angels.

This year, Tim begins his 37th season in the Angels Baseball organization and his 19th as Vice President of Communications. As such, he oversees media relations, publicity and broadcasting for the Angels.

The Athens, Greece, native is a 1980 graduate of Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. He is a member of the board of directors for the Orange County Sports Youth Association and the Board of Governors for Anaheim Western Medical Center. He assists other charitable groups such as Amigos de los Niños and the Anaheim Family Justice Center. Mead also serves on the advisory committee for the Sports Management Program at Long Beach State and the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Communications at Cal State Fullerton. He and his wife Carole have one son, Brandon.

First Friday Friars was founded in 1958. A Catholic men’s organization with over 200 members, the group has been meeting on the first Friday of the month for more than 50 years.
