The 8th grade leaders of St. Cecilia Catholic School recently welcomed their new Parochial Vicar, Fr. Nicolaus Thai. St. Cecilia parish is his first pastoral assignment. Bishop Vann ordained Fr. Nicolaus to the order of Priesthood on June 11, 2016. The school is blessed and excited to have Fr. Nicolaus teaching religion a few days a week to the junior high students.
According to his bio, Fr. Nicolaus arrived in the U.S. from Saigon and settled in Fountain Valley. He attended Los Amigos High School, Orange Coast College, Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State Long Beach. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Sacred Theology in 2014 and then, studying in Rome this summer, he earned the equivalent to his master’s degree in Sacred Theology.
