CYPRESS KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS LENTEN FISH DINNERS

2/18/2015

Looking for a way to get out of the kitchen and have someone else prepare tasty and inexpensive dinners? Here’s the solution. The Knights of Columbus Cypress Council #8599 is again hosting its special Fish Fry dinners each Friday of the Lenten Season at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Cypress. Everyone is invited.

According to Deputy Grand Knight Virgil Smith, the Lenten Fish Dinners will be served on five Friday evenings, February 20, 27, March 6, 20, and 27, at 5 p.m. in the St. Irenaeus Parish Hall on Grindlay Street, between Lincoln and Orange in Cypress.

The Council’s Grand Knight Peter A. Morales says it’s more than delicious dinners, but also a way to help local organizations such HSA (Home School Association); H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everyday); Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops; M.E.F.P.(Marriage Enrichment Formation Program); and other Knight of Columbus services in Cypress and surrounding communities.

On the menu will be fish and chips dinners with suggested donations of just $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 5-12 years of age. Children under age 4 eat free. Clam chowder served in a sourdough bowl, $6. An added feature: two slices of cheese pizza for $5. Coffee and tea are provided, with soda for one dollar.

The Knights of Columbus Cypress Council 8599 has been serving the local community and Saint Irenaeus Parish since 1984. The Council is composed of nearly 200 members, and extends an open invitation for others to join.

The Knights of Columbus was officially chartered in 1882 as a fraternal benefit society with founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity. Today there are nearly two million members in more than 14,000 councils throughout the United States and worldwide.
