For every 100 people in the world, 18 are Catholic. From 2013 to 2014 there has been an increase of 18 million Catholics, according to the most recent Vatican statistics.

The number of priests and seminarians has also increased worldwide, though there has been a decline of about 10 percent among the number of women religious.
