STUDENT VIDEO CONTEST

Orange Catholic Foundation to award tuition grants for best videos

By Staff     11/3/2017

If you’re a middle school or high school student attending a Catholic school in the Diocese of Orange, you’ll want to start charging your video camera now. Just two months from today (Jan. 5, 2018) is the deadline to submit your 120-second video for a chance to win one of several tuition grants, totaling $4,500, to be awarded by The Orange Catholic Foundation as the diocese celebrates Catholic Schools Week.

The focus of your video should be on how your school helps build character in its students. Sure you’re there to excel in academics and other specialized programs your school offers such as athletics and the arts, but all the while your teachers are also imparting lessons and providing opportunities that are helping you to develop Christian values – the traits that will propel you into adulthood ready to help shape our world into a kinder, more compassionate place. That’s what you need to capture in your video.

What teacher has inspired you? What clubs or programs have helped shape you? What is it about your school, its motto, the campus or the staff that make you proud to be attending? Get it all on tape and then upload your video for a chance to win a tuition grant. First, second and third-place winners ($1,000, $750 and $500 respectively) will be named for both middle school and high school entries in time for Catholic Schools Week which begins on Jan. 28, 2018.
