Students from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, along with Stagelight Productions, recently presented the whimsical musical “Seussical Jr.” at the Forum Theater in Yorba Linda.

The moment the curtains parted, the audience was transported to the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss. The iconic set design and colorful costumes set the stage as The Cat in the Hat (Morgan Tracey) and JoJo (Cassidy Wollnik) from Whoville narrated the story of Horton (Ciara Curran) the elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos and feels compelled to protect them, no matter what obstacle he faces. The storytelling continued in song and familiar rhythmic rhyme.

The entire cast (kindergarten through eighth grade) of characters sprung to life, grabbed many hearts and thoroughly entertained the crowd. Amongst the fun-loving humor there were lessons such as the powers of friendship, loyalty, and the value of every person.
