ST. CATHERINE’S RAISES FUNDS TO FIGHT DISEASE

6/12/2017

St. Catherine’s Academy raised more than $2,000.00 on May 31 to benefit the American Heart Association and Freidreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance. The dual fundraiser was a great opportunity for nearly 170 students to raise awareness and critical funds to support research for these important causes.

For the third consecutive year, the school has hosted the fundraiser which includes a Jog-A-Thon and jump-rope activity. Friedreich’s Ataxia is an inherited gene disorder that damages and debilitates the nervous system and affects 1 in every 50,000 people in the United States.

“Chelsea was a special friend at St. Catherine’s Academy, and we are proud to raise awareness and funds for this critical disease in honor of Chelsea,” said Coach Greg Jones, athletic director at St Catherines.
