SOCCER TEAM BRINGS CHRISTMAS CHEER TO SENIOR CITIZENS

By Staff     12/20/2017

JSerra Boys Soccer participated in its second annual community outreach event at The Fountains at Sea Bluffs in Dana Point. Over 50 boys participated and brought cheer to the staff and residents by singing Christmas carols, bringing many smiles to seniors.

They performed in different areas within the facility including Memory Care, and ended up in the Grand Dynasty room to entertain the residents just in time for Happy Hour. They received several special song requests including “Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer” and “Silent Night.”

“We all really enjoyed spreading the Christmas spirit and seeing the residents’ faces light up and smile while we sang,” said senior Sam Guinane, who has been a part of JSerra Boys Soccer for four years and who has committed to playing Division I soccer at the University of Notre Dame.

Head Coach Erik Kirsch was very pleased with how the event progressed. “It is a joy watching these young men grow on and off the field,” he said. “They truly gave all of themselves and they realized there is more to this journey than just soccer!”
