SERVITE TEAMS UP WITH THE HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS AND THE AMERICAN RED CROSS TO GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE

By Staff     3/10/2017

The Red Cross Club at Servite High School hosted a blood drive for the American Red Cross on Feb. 14.

“With blood supplies at critical levels, our students wanted to give the gift of life for Valentine’s Day,” said club moderator Steffanie Early. Also supporting the Red Cross’s efforts was Harlem Globetrotter “Too Tall” Hall, who spoke with donors, posed for photos and did a brief skills demonstration for students in the Servite gym.

More than 80 individuals donated blood at the drive, many of them students making their first-ever donation. Senior Christopher McKeever, co-president of the Red Cross Club, coordinated the blood drive and student volunteers worked alongside Red Cross staff and volunteers to keep the event running smoothly.

At 5’2”, Too Tall Hall has the distinction of being the shortest player in Harlem Globetrotters history.
