Superintendent Of Orange Catholic Schools Dr. Erin Barisano on Feb. 5 congratulated  Principal Kim White, of St. Bonaventure Catholic School in Huntington Beach, on being named a Top Five Finalist for the 2021 O.C. Leadership Award from Parenting O.C. magazine. Barisano presented White with balloons and flowers to celebrate the honor.

While COVID has discouraged the world this year, it has also brought prominent rays of light. Mrs. White has made a positive impact and broke ground with her reopening plan, which transformed the school, ensuring students grow academically, socially, and spiritually. The families she has touched will forever be grateful for her leadership. While there has been no greater challenge than this year, there has been no greater reward.

“Principal Kim White has worked tirelessly since the pandemic began to ensure that the strong educational program at St. Bonaventure School remained in place,” said Dr. Denise Valadez, associate superintendent. “Under her leadership, her faculty was able to quickly pivot to provide students with a virtual learning experience that exceeded many parents’ expectations.  Additionally, she spent countless hours during the summer months planning for reopening the school and ensuring that precious resources were secured to effectively implement all health and safety guidelines that would allow students to safely come back to campus for in-person instruction.  Her dedication and commitment to her school community are to be commended and her leadership has allowed St. Bonaventure School to thrive during the midst of the most challenging times the school has ever experienced.”
