Parishioners in the Diocese of Orange will join with the congregation of nearby Shepherd’s Grove to pray for the fallen and the welfare of our nation at a Memorial Day joint prayer service and tribute beginning at 11 a.m. Monday, May 30.
The third annual Cathedral Memorial Gardens Memorial Day Prayer Service will be jointly celebrated by the Very Reverend Christopher Smith, rector of Christ Cathedral, and Shepherd’s Grove Pastor Jim Kok in the Cathedral Arboretum.
An observance in the Cathedral Memorial Gardens will follow at noon. It will feature patriotic music and a patriotic carillon concert, a tribute to all branches of the U.S. military service, military honors, a 21-gun salute and the release of 100 white doves.
