HOW THEY MET: High school best friends, reunited after 23 years at 25th high school reunion.

ROLES IN THE CHURCH: “Active on both our counts. Laurie sings in choir, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and assists Mark in marriage prep classes. Mark assists at Mass about 10 to 15 times per month. Conducts marriage prep program, performs the Rite of Baptism 3 months during the year, teaches RCIA classes, conducts RCIA retreat, conducts Rite of Christian Burial as required, assists pastor as required.”

WHAT DREW HIM TO THE DIACONATE: “My upbringing by Fr. Kristovich at Loyola University, several members of the Diaconate (Dcns. Bob Kelleher, Tony Bube, and Dick Nauman) who encouraged me to become a deacon”

HIS MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE: “Baptizing my grandchildren”

FAVORITE SCRIPTURE: The Beatitudes, as found in Matthew and Luke.
