KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SERVING UP FISH DINNERS FOR LENT

By Staff     3/2/2017

If you’re looking for someone else to do the cooking on Fridays during Lent, the Knights of Columbus Cypress Council #8599 is again hosting special Lenten Fish Fry dinners at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Cypress. You can dine and also take part in a Maui vacation raffle and drawings for weekly prizes.

According to Deputy Grand Knight Rolly Arenz, the dinners are from 5 to 7 p.m. on March 3, 10, 17, 31, and on April 7. Dinner will be served in the St. Irenaeus Parish Hall on Grindlay Street, between Lincoln and Orange in Cypress.

On the menu are Fish and Chips dinners, served with coleslaw, and mac-n-cheese. The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children 5-12. Children under age 4 are free. Also on the menu are clam chowder ($7) or two slices of cheese pizza ($5). Beverages include soda ($1) and no charge for coffee and water. Beer and wine are also available.

Council Grand Knight Virgil Smith says it’s not only a way to have a family night out, but a way to help local organizations, including H.O.P.E (Helping Other People Everyday), Cub and Boy Scouts, Special Olympics, American Wheelchair Mission, People With Intellectual Disabilities, His Nesting Place, La Habra Life Shelter, and two seminarians.
