Bill Bracken is one of the most recognizable chefs in Southern California, having cooked for Hollywood celebrities and worked in the finest hotels in L.A. and Orange County. The glitz and glamour of his work, however, wasn’t enough to keep him from answering God’s call to use his skills to do more. These days, you’ll find him leading a team of volunteers who cook and serve nutritious meals to the poor out of a bright red food truck lovingly called “Betsy.”
OC Catholic TV captured an evening dinner service in the heart of Santa Ana where dozens showed up for a pre-Thanksgiving meal, prepared by Bracken himself. He shared with us his goal to create a sustainable model for ending hunger that can be duplicated in other parts of the country.
